This is the Dial-Up Networking screen. It can be accessed by double-clicking 'My Computer' then 'Dial-Up Networking'
To adjust the properties, click on 'More', then 'Edit entry and modem properties.'
BASIC
Here you can set the phone number and alternates. To disable call waiting, put a check in 'Use Telephony dialing properties, and more options will appear.
Windows NT is very picky about the hardware attached to the computer. If NT won't recognize the modem, there is a good chance that it is not compatible.
SERVER
Much like Windows95/98.
PPP TCP/IP Settings
Much like Windows95/98.
SCRIPT
Most people aren't using scripts these days, but this is where to disable it.
SECURITY
When NT sets up a connection, the default setting here is 'Accept only encrypted authentication'. This is gauranteed to cause a password error on most servers. Change it to 'Accept any authentication including clear text'.
