Switching Your ISP to TwinCitizen Online

Switching ISPs involves more than just calling or e-mailing your old ISP to end your account and setting up the new account.

Existing Dial-up Account

If you are using a dial-up connection then switching to TwinCitizen is easy. Here are the steps:

  1. Sign Up Online for a TwinCitizen account.
  2. Notify your friends and family of your new e-mail address. Make sure to set up your TwinCitizen account, and notify your friends before you cancel your old service.
  3. Cancel your existing ISP account. Each Internet service provider has its own rules about how to cancel their service. Contact their Customer Care for help.

The most important part of switching ISPs is changing your e-mail address. Just like moving, you need to change your address so people can find you.

Existing DSL Account

Steps for NON-MSN Customers using Qwest DSL:

  1. Call Qwest at 1-800-218-4443. Work through the phone menus selecting the options for making changes to your service. A customer service representative will come on line. They will need the last four digits of your Social Security number or customer code from your phone bill. Tell them you are switching to TwinCitzen Online. Finish the call to Qwest
  2. Sign-up online or call Customer Care at 612-676-1700 to setup a TwinCitizen account.
  3. Notify your friends and family of your new e-mail address. Make sure to set up your TwinCitizen account, and notify your friends before you cancel your old service.
  4. Contact your existing ISP to cancel your account. Each Internet service provider has its own rules about how to cancel their service. Contact their Customer Care for help.

Steps for MSN Customers using Qwest DSL:

  1. Call MSN at 1-866-783-7868. DO NOT enter anything, wait on line for a customer service representative. They will need the last four digits of your Social Security number or customer code from your phone bill. Tell them you are switching your ISP. Finish the call to MSN
  2. Sign-up online or call Customer Care at 612-676-1700 to setup a TwinCitizen account.
  3. Notify your friends and family of your new e-mail address. Make sure to set up your TwinCitizen account, and notify your friends before you cancel your old service.
